Featured Photographer: Fer Juaristi

April 12, 2012

Mexico wedding photographer Fer Juaristi’s images are truly pieces of art. Each unique image invokes a feeling of the moment with shots of flying bouquets against the sky or sweeping veils in the wind. Fer believes in having a more relaxed style, with no posing, and his elegant and modern images embody this. Fer also runs workshops, or Fershops, for wedding photographers in search of light, inspiration and an overall great time. To attend one of his workshops, please visit http://fershops.com/

We are excited to feature Fer and hope you are inspired.

How did you get started in Photography?:

Well, I always felt attracted to cameras, but I never felt that about wedding photography. I was doing music videos for local bands and TV production when a friend of mine called me and told me he was getting married. I went to Google and found a DVD called Masters of Wedding Photography. The next day I quit my job and so far so good.

What has contributed to your success?:

The trust in my clients and shooting how I wanna shoot. Also getting education every year helps. Plus, I have friends that I admire and I learn from them every day.

What is the most important thing for your continued success?:

Mmm, I think that I never stop–I always try new opportunities and just stop thinking and go for them.

What’s the best business advice you’ve ever received?:

Do the opposite as your local market.
Trust your vision.
Die as a student.

What is most important in your photography?:

The experimentation on every project.
